NewFest presents year-round screenings and events that include New York’s annual LGBTQ+ Film Festival, which began in 1988. NewFest is dedicated to bringing together filmmakers and audiences to build a community that passionately supports giving voice and visibility to a wide range of representations of the LGBTQ+ experience. We are committed to nurturing emerging LGBTQ+ and allied filmmakers. We support those artists who are willing to take risks in telling the stories that fully reflect the diversity and complexity of our lives.• Collaborate and work with the Executive Director in managing the day to day operations of NewFest, New York's leading LGBTQ+ Film and Media Arts Organization. • Represent NewFest as a liaison with members, vendors, sponsors and partners. • Curate and coordinate year-round screenings and events, as well as communicate with film distributors, media companies, filmmakers, talent, and sponsors.• Oversee curation and manage all aspects of the New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival, which is presented annually by NewFest. The festival, which takes place in October, features six full days of screenings and events that highlight the diverse stories and narratives of the LGBTQ+ community.

• Vet and curate films by new and emerging artists for non-profit multidisciplinary art space, as well as coordinate and host screenings and post-screening talkbacks at The Tank and ancillary venues in NYC• Serve as liaison with new filmmakers to provide a comprehensive marketing strategy and program

• Brainstorm relevant feature ideas with head editorial team• Edit reviews, interviews, and features; communicate with writers to create balanced and cogent pieces

• In charge of communications and coordination relating to the production of television and digital programs focused on women in the Middle East and North African region• Provide support to President Zainab Salbi in all projects from daily life to professional events and work

• Evaluated screenplay submission for the 2013 Sundance Institute grants, with a focus on international filmmaking, as well as new and emerging filmmakers.• Wrote repots and feedback based on the effectiveness and promise of each submitted screenplay
