Reporting to the Human Resources Director, I supported a business unit of ~2,000 employees. Working with senior leaders, I contributed to the development, review and implementation of their business plans, ensuring alignment with Southeastern's People Strategy. This included identifying opportunities for productivity improvements, via the review of organisational structures and the streamlining of business processes, continuous improvement and performance management. In addition, I was responsible for:- driving organisational (transforming service delivery, improving organisational effectiveness; embedding corporate values) and cultural (high performing teams; succession development; absence management) change;- ensuring the successful delivery and implementation of HR projects aligned to organisational targets; - providing a key interface between HR and functions heads of to embed a strategic approach to HR management and development, resulting in a more effective front line delivery;- working closely with the Centres of Excellence to develop, promote and implement a range of workforce strategies that support the delivery of business requirements; and- analyzing workforce data to identify key insights, metrics and trends that results in actionable people management solutions and strategies (with particular focus on absence management, employee engagement and recruitment and attrition) .

Partnered with senior managers to operationalise the HR function for Toll Mining Services across numerous sites in Queensland and New South Wales (~ 400 employees), . The main purpose of this role was to coach the SLT on how effective HR practices could improve their operational performance. In addition, I was responsible for:- providing timely and accurate advice for the Senior Leadership team and their direct reports;- providing day-to-day coaching and mentoring to the East’s SLT, focusing on leadership development, performance management, absence reduction and employee engagement;- providing a key interface between HR and the business, ensuring the objectives of both stakeholders were considered and accounted for;- leading union negotiations regarding wage reductions, site reductions and disciplinary matter;- ensuring all HR related initiatives were aligned with commercial objectives, with a particular focus on cost reduction and savings; and- provide strategic guidance to management and employees in areas of change management, performance management and talent acquisition.
