Main responsibilities:- Leads the development of the programme of work and associated governance, strategy and decision-making processes- Leads the Programme Team and matrix-manages the Project Managers to maintain project flow and meet all success criteria and delivery goals- Manages the forward-planning and monitors project flows, reporting continued progress to the Senior Leadership Team, Department Heads, Strategic Directors and Waste & Recycling Councillors- Identifies and mitigates risk resolving any issues efficiently and speedily to prevent any delays on hitting completion dates- Collaborates with all Surrey councils to continue to develop the waste strategy and policy frameworkKey achievements: - Developed and implemented a programme of projects and other work initiatives for multiple partners to reduce waste, increase food waste recycling and reduce dry mixed recycling, resulting in a £1m investment being secured to continue with and expand the programme up to April 2023- The lead for a cross authority task group, to review and respond to the government’s landmark resources and waste strategy consultations: received a letter of commendation from the partnership chairman for successfully leading this work

Main responsibilities: - The lead for all highways, transport and environmental priority projects- Established and nurtured relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners to secure buy-in commitments- Led the Project Management Team and matrix-managed the project resources throughout the HTE directorate to create and promote a collaborative culture and drive forward transformational change in a positive environment- Identified trends and test solutions, advising on data and presenting recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making involving difficult trade-offsKey achievements:- The lead for a programme of change at Surrey’s community recycling centres to implement transformational changes to the operations procedures resulting in a contract variation with the contractor that achieved £2.7m in savings whilst maintaining high service levels - Conducted a review of Surrey’s bus services, redesigned the network to meet customer needs in a more efficient way and renegotiated/procured new contracts with operators, implemented the service changes and monitored their impact: achieved £2m in savings and achieved high levels of customer satisfaction - Successfully negotiated the re-financing of the waste disposal contract debt with key stakeholders, securing a contract variation agreement that achieved a £1.4m saving- Created and developed a ‘First of Its Kind’ partnership strategy with multiple stakeholders to tackle and reduce fly-tipping in Surrey: resulting in a 1000t drop in fly-tipping and a saving of £100k- Delivered a sustainable transport programme in Surrey with a budget of £20m working with a variety of stakeholders that introduced a range of infrastructure improvements for residents over 3 years- Awarded Employee of the Year 2015, with a special commendation for being an employee who ‘truly represents the values of the organisation’
