T500,700,800 & 900 PROJECTS:Responsibilities of my position involved: -Design through improvement change of pipe systems and electrical harnesses on the External area of the Aero-engines and their approval.The subsequent 3D re-routing of the pipe models using RR’s in-house pipe routing system, Isometric and arrangement drawing production using CADDS5.Design through improvement of piping support brackets from concept through to production.Other duties include:•Checking and approval of output drawings.•Production of Statements of Work.•Attend Design Reviews.•Arrangements and Isometrics.•3D modelling (parametric & explicit)•Providing solutions to shop floor when production problems arise.

ASTUTE (Nuclear Class) PROJECTResponsibilities of my position involved the routing of major submarine pipe systems (CADDS5/3D modelling) from the 1st stage review to final acceptance ensuring all system and contractual conditions are achieved.Systems included:-Ships Freshwater Cooling, Main Feed, Tank Soundings, Depth Gauge and Built in Breathing. Produced isometric drawings using the latest ‘Pipefab’ software.Produced pipe installation arrangement output drawings utilising the CADDS5 model. Other duties included:•Checking and approval of output drawings.•Arrangements and Isometrics.•Providing solutions to shop floor when production problems arise.•Updating/management of System Diagrams (P & I D’s).•Ensuring correct Instrumentation inserted on Pipelines.•Control and production of “various systems” •Engineering Change Requests.•Interacting with Suppliers, planning, buyers, MOD, production and technical departments.•General updating of previous “class” drawings using Auto cad.

Landing Platform Dock (LPD) PROJECT, Ships Albion & Bulwark.Duties involved liaising between BAE and Rod gearing sub-contractors in addition to:•Overseeing the installation of rod gearing for all ship systems.•Providing the sub-contractor with a comprehensive and correct work package list. •Providing solutions from the CADDS5 model where necessary.•Updating relevant piping models and subsequent arrangement outputs.•Upkeep and production of Vent and Pipe Valves Rod Gearing System Diagrams.

Marine Design Office - Propulsion Squad:Responsible for 3D modelling of the gearbox internal lub oil pipes, from the initial integration to the final output drawings using CADDS5 package.Other duties included:•Checking of Isometric and Arrangement drawings.•Production of assembly drawings for Astute class submarine raft and gearbox assemblies.•3D modelling of components.•2D component drawings (including AutoCad software).•Part ordering of newly required items.

Heavy Engineering Department.I worked on a variety of manually or C.N.C. controlled machines 3 – 5 axis. These included Horizontal and Vertical Borers up to 6.5m diameter/ 3m high/80tonne capacity /Millers/Lathes/Cylindrical Grinders etc. SIEMENS Controls:- Programmed our own machine for manual input or used pre-programmed tapes. All work involved the production of heavy engineering components to a high tolerance and MOD standard of quality control. During this time I spent 1 year as a full time fitter on: - Rotor blade assemblies, the submarine main machinery rafts and self propelled howitzers (AS90).
