Following the acquisition of ABN AMRO by the Royal Bank of Scotland the structured real estate team of ABN was amalgamated into RBS. Initial focus was on the management of highly leveraged loans transferred from ABN including exploring de-leveraging and re-structuring opportunities. Loans under my management totaled €1bn across 13 facilities.From 2009 focus shifted to advising RBS’s non-core division on the real estate deleveraging initiatives implemented by the bank. This included the sale of a £1.4bn UK CRE loan book to Blackstone and a €300m Spanish loan book to Parella Weinberg. The sale to Blackstone included structuring Europe’s first CMBS secured on a non performing loan portfolio since the global financial crisis.

Responsible for the end-to-end process of client liaison, structuring, pricing, tranching and execution of the facilities.Loans (senior and mezzanine) were secured on various assets classes including office, retail, residential and logistics across various locations in Germany. Each facility was structured for inclusion within a Talisman vehicle (ABN’s securitisation program).
