Designing and delivering two MA modules. Charity Governance, looks at legal structures, board models, trustee responsibility and the Charity Governance Code. Social Entrepreneurship equips charity leaders to explore delivering social benefit through entrepreneurship, the contextual drivers for that and preparing business plans to achieve it. It also considers the blurring of boundaries between charity and social enterprise, plus the growing Business for Good concepts

As Head of Support Services in the central (connexional) team I was a member of its six-strong Senior Leadership Group. I held particular responsibility for leading on financial strategy, including producing and gaining trustee acceptance of the £40m+ pa central services budget. With around 180,000 members the Methodist Church is a sizeable, complex and active volunteer-based charity. I led a team of around 70 staff delivering various services including:Financial management and accounting for the centrally held funds and assets that total around £280m HR, Safeguarding, Wellbeing and Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)Property, including strategic planning, oversight of multi-£m redevelopment projects, complex leases and conservation properties Established and managed a multi-layered grants committee structure which awards over £8million annually to applicants worldwideFacilities management, reception and 20 central administrative staffResponsible for IT applications and hardware, including membership of GDPR implementation task forceI introduced the Church's first professional procurement functionI was the senior executive that advised and supported trustee boards of two DB pension schemes, line managing the Pensions Office and commissioning independent advice on behalf of the employersPayroll bureau for over 2,500 workers and gift aid collection bureau for over 3,000 individual charities

Employed as Supply Chain Manager Responsible for 15 – 20 staff working in customer services, production planning, materials planning and inbound/outbound logistics. Was responsible for compilation of sales forecasts and budgeting for whole UK business with sales of £40m. Managed pre-press design studio and was main internal contact for customers and design agencies involved in print and product re-design, involving global wines and spirits brands. I managed the company's largest English customer, with annual sales of around £2m, and attended regular quality and supply review meetings with major brand-owners within the Scotch Whisky industry.

I combined managing the customer services and planning functions internally with developing and building excellent export sales. These included various £1m plus customers in countries as diverse as USA, Sri Lanka, The Philippines and Sweden. These ranged from global drinks brands, to major regional producers. Annual sales to the main Sri Lankan customer grew from around £250k to over £2m under my management, with similar growth in The Philippines.
