The NSW Bushfire Clean-Up Program responded to the needs of people across NSW who lost homes and businesses to the devastating 2019/2020 bushfires. Managing contractor Laing O’Rourke partnered with NSW Public Works Advisory to clear debris from fire-damaged properties and make communities safe as quickly as possible.Significant challenges included an evolving project scope, the safe removal of thousands of tonnes of hazardous materials, and executing the program at pace with sensitivity for grieving communities. Through collaboration and innovation, 3,600 properties were cleared by early August, allowing families to rebuild sooner. More than $150 million was injected into local communities with the engagement of local contractors.

Led the delivery of the Glenugie to Maclean section of works (50km/$950m) appointed a TfNSW limited Principals Authorised Person with a team of 75 managing the design and procurement and then successful delivery though a number of large ($60m-$500m) Construct Only Contracts completed by tier 1 & 2 contractors with significant horizontal and vertical interfaces. Overseeing the program delivery including design, procurement, contract administration, safety leadership, stakeholder communication & reporting to TfNSW and Government.

Northern Bypass Earthworks/RoadworksResponsible for all Earthworks, Gravel Pavements, Furniture/Finishing works and traffic staging to the Northern Bypass. From October 2013 also managing the Spray seal and asphalt works for the entire project2010-2012 was responsible for all Drainage on the Northern (Bypass) section of the project completed including 4km Transverse Drainage, 15km Pavement Drainage and 16 RCBC.

Bulk Earthworks PE - Stewarts River Bypass - Responsible for bypass subzone including cut to fill earthworks, material processing, UZF/SMZ drainage and local roads works.PE Bituminous Pavements - Managed the entire project Asphalt and Spray seal subcontract including >1million m2 of spray seal and 100,000t of Asphalt. Reporting direct to Project Manager.

Worked in lead up, during and after events from Stadium opening, including the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Lions tour Bledisloe Cup and State of Origin
