The 2019 Washington State Legislature enacted a bill (HB-2052) creating a Cannabis Science Task Force with a $1.6M 4-year budget to overhaul the state's laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing standards for consumer cannabis products and raw cannabis agricultural commodities. I am one of three industry representatives on the Steering Committee of the Task Force, where we vote on items brought forth by the multiple Work Groups of the Task Force. The Task Force reports to the legislature and makes recommendations for changes to law, rule, and policy at four agencies as related to quality assurance and monitoring of cannabis products cultivated, manufactured, and distributed within the state. In the legislative session of 2022 our work with the Steering Committee culminated in the passage of a second bill (HB-1859) which codified the recommendations of the Task Force and becomes effective in July of 2024.

In October of 2016 I was appointed to Adjunct Board Member of The Cannabis Alliance, Washington state's largest member-driven cannabis industry association. In September of 2017 I was elected to Full Board Member. I now chair the Regulatory Committee of the Alliance, and I have materially participated in several advisory panels with the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, the governing agency for our industry.

I worked for the Radiology Department to coordinate the local efforts of a large international research project investigating anthropometric trends in fetal growth and development. The primary purpose of the study was to gather growth metrics of children all over the world to modernize the growth chats that are used globally. Seattle was one of many cities around the world participating in the research. I personally enrolled over 200 pregnant women into a cohort-longitudinal study and followed up with them throughout the course of pregnancy and neonatal care including physical measurements by hand and by 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasounds. Some mother-child participants will continue their participation for up to 20 years. Additionally enrolled over 2,000 newborns at multiple hospitals in the Seattle area into a cross-sectional study describing anthropometry at birth. Both the cross-sectional and the longitudinal arms of the study considered mother-child demographics, health history, and outcomes -- including pathology -- and required my extensive coordination with clinicians, patients, and electronic medical records in hospital units of gynecology, prenatal, radiology, obstetrics, mother-baby, and neonatal intensive care.

Assisted a research team in the field of genetic epidemiology. We were principally investigating genetic markers for predisposition to a variety of metabolic disorders. We managed a multi-state effort to enroll families with known predisposition, to collect their medical records, and to collect samples of their blood for genetic analysis. Concluding in a masters thesis, I conducted a linkage analysis study identifying co-occurrence of chronic hypertension with several genomic regions among individuals in known family trees.

Course Title:"Clinical Biostatistics: Principles of Evidence-Based Medicine"Teaching assistant position required grading papers, holding office hours, and leading one independent classroom session per week of 20 students completing an exercise. The course was an introduction to biostatistics for graduate-level pharmacy majors, and focused on the interpretation and application of published clinical research data.
