I worked as a sole trader and franchised personal trainer at various Fitness First gyms in Sydney and the UK. I also ran outdoor PT and Boot Camps. My areas of focus as a PT were functional fitness, strength and conditioning and corrective exercise. I studied several courses with the renowned Paul Chek. It was from what I learned from Chek, that there is so much more to know which inspired me to study Kinesiology.

I was employed as an Infantry soldier in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Infantry. I later moved to Assault Pioneer platoon within the battalion, working with field construction, explosives and watercraft. I deployed on operations overseas to Iraq in 2003 as part of the first Security Detachment in Baghdad and to East Timor in 2006 as part of Op Astute. I was deployed on a 6 week jungle training op in PNG in 2004 also.
