Muller practices in the areas of business law and energy, and board of director participation. His expertise is in general business law, energy, financial regulations, and the formation, purchase and sale of businesses. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of California, Berkeley Law, and his practice has emphasized all aspects of business law, for U.S. and international businesses. He was Vice President and General Counsel for Samsonite Corporation and General Counsel for Gates Corporation for a combined total of twenty years. He was formerly with the Gorsuch, Kirgis law firm and then with the Conover, McClearn & Heppenstall firm. He is now Of Counsel with the Dietze and Davis firm in Boulder. He also has extensive experience in the development and operation of private power projects in Colorado and elsewhere, and until recently was Executive Director of the Colorado Independent Energy Association. He was one of the founding Board members of the American Corporate Counsel Association and the first President of its Colorado Chapter. He also founded the Corporate Internship Program at the University of Denver College of Law, is a past member of the Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association, the Board of the Rotary Club of Denver, the Board of the Colorado Health Foundation, and the Joint Board of the HealthONE Hospitals in Colorado. He is currently on the Board of the SEH engineering firm based in Minnesota.

CIEA assists independent power producers in Colorado

Muller was a managing partner in the development and operation of two major gas-fired cogen power projects valued in excess ot $100 million; he led the negotiations of the Power Purchase Agreements for them in 1987 with Public Service Company of Colorado, then the negotations of the gas supply contracts for them and of the EPC contracts for their construction, then the negotiations with the lenders for the financing needed for the projects, then the construction, start up and managing of the power project operations as well as the tomato business operated as Colorado Greenhouse, LLC utilizing the waste heat from the power plants to heat the adjoining greenhouses year round.

Managed the legal affairs of Gates

Managed the legal affairs of Samsonite from 1973 through 1985, and served on the Samsonite Board and Management Committee from 1983 through 1985; also served as head attorney for the Beatrice Foods consumer products group and assisted them with mergers and acquistions from 1980 through 1985.
