Key Accountabilities - Execution of day-to-day control and monitoring related activities (focusing on Operational Risk, Compliance and Conduct) - Direct risk assessment and mitigation activity for information security, 3rd party, process risks and workplace compliance. - Direct activity in each Function to achieve compliance with the Group’s policies, procedures and guidelines- Direct research and interpret data received on emerging risks to help each Function identify, avoid and mitigate risk exposures. - Implement the Group’s operational risk framework, including maintaining appropriate risk and event data, material event escalation processes- Develop strong and productive relationships at all levels across the business- Build and maintain a high performing, fair and rewarding team environment

Senior Risk Partner to LBG's Group HR Function including operational shared services (Resourcing, Payroll, Pensions) and Centres of Excellence (Programme Management, Employee Relations, Talent & Reward)Providing a single point of contact; deep technical knowledge of risk process; on-site monitoring of key operational controls; compliance through coaching and observation; day to day guidance and support on implementing risk strategies - Upskill senior management teams on ‘one best way’ risk framework methodologies - Design and deliver the Function's compliance with the Group operational risk methodology- Lead and support HR Directors and teams complete robust assessments of their operational risk exposures including change, compliance and legal risk- Provide hands-on support on qualitative and quantitative assessment techniques, using relevant internal and external data- Provide direct risk assurance of HR's 2012 change portfolio including programmes and projects driven by the Group simplification objective, mandatory pay requirements and IT integration - Drive structured review of material risk exposures and critical controls on a regular basis, considering: new failure risks, likelihood and cause of failure and ensuring appropriate responses are developed to manage risk within Group appetite- Guide line management in the design and build of appropriate controls and business processes – including direct testing of control design and effectiveness- Oversee internal controls by the direct testing or observation that control activities are operating effectively – providing consultancy drawing on audit and process improvement methodologies - Design control frameworks supporting 3rd party relationships to maintain strong retained oversight requirements and insightful monitoring- Represent the Function in Group Audit and Risk engagements and initiatives

- Lead the design and embedding of Operational Risk Management practice across critical central functions including IT, Payments and Operations including risk identification, assessment, control assurance and extreme scenario analysis- Lead division-wide control assessment analysis, effectively engaging Senior Executives, Group and External Audit teams whilst providing guidance and challenge to 11 Business Risk Functions- Create and operate consistent risk data reporting standards and tools to provide Senior management with an aggregate view of key risk exposures, accountability, and timescales for remediation

- Provide leadership and direction to critical Group Functions in the development, implementation and oversight of Risk Management policy, frameworks and processes. Areas include Group IT, Payments and Property- Lead a team that provides expert operational risk advice, guidance challenge and reporting across 19 UK-based Group Functions

Implemented Basel II OR requirements through a network of risk champions across 19 critical functions including Group HR, Finance, Group IT, Payment Services and PropertyManaged all Executive-level risk reporting, including Audit Committee papers proving an independent and expert view of the Division’s control environment and significant risk issues – this included targeted assistance where negative audit reports were raisedPersonally led 1st-line challenge and consultancy to ensure tangible benefit was derived from the Risk and Control Framework e.g. supported risk managers in route cause analysis and ensured control improvements were made where it was cost efficient to do so, or where reputational damage could be restrictedProvided technical direction to Group HR and Finance Risk Specialists in promoting consistent identification, classification and impact scoring of operational risks, risk event failures and a risk aware culture Designed and implemented a Control Assurance programme including development, production of guidance, implementation and support at all levels – that highlighted control weaknesses to appropriate Risk Committees and risk owners.
