•Logistics management information systems strategy, planning, and performance. This includes the functional implementation and ongoing management of logistics information, transportation management and all documents, product movement, and product visibility. •Performs technical studies and analysis on to investigate logistics concepts, techniques, and applications that will advance current capabilities and contribute to the development of effective logistics operations. •Analyzes world events, industry trends, and evolving technologies to proactively identify transportation issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and drive efficiencies and cost reduction. •Provides expertise on worldwide shipping/transportation/moving capabilities standards, procedures, and certifications. •Works with purchasing to negotiate rates and implement agreements to ensure optimized freight expense. •Develops appropriate measurement systems capable of assessing overall logistics performance. •Develops, documents, and executes a global comprehensive distribution strategic plan which drives optimal customer service and profitability. •Leads continuous process improvement and optimization efforts as related to product transportation and the associated optimization of inventories.•Provides distribution and logistics project leadership and support.•Works with purchasing to negotiate 3PL rates and implement agreements to ensure optimized warehousing expenses. •Analyzes world events, industry trends, and evolving technologies to proactively identify warehousing issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and drive efficiencies and cost reduction. •Ensures full compliance to all laws and regulations which apply to company-wide import and export transactions by developing, implementing, and modifying import and export compliance processes and procedures (tariff classifications, valuation, country of origin, NAFTA, denied party screenings, etc.).
