About Nick Ozanich

I am a graduate student at the University of Washington studying mechanical engineering in the Performance Research Lab under Dr. Cristine Agresta. I am developing my skills as a biomechanist from an engineering POV and learning the necessary skills to conduct cutting-edge research. My specific interests are sonoelastography and its applications to musculoskeletal tissue for diagnostic and rehabilitative uses, as well as the biomechanics of the foot and ankle. Here are the skills I am currently developing:- Mechanical engineering analysis- Foot and ankle biomechanics (anatomy, function, measurement techniques)- Ultrasound Imaging (physics of acoustics/fluid dynamics, sonoelastography, clinical/performance applications)I graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Bioengineering, where I worked for a year as a Research Assistant with Dr. Anita Vasavada and Dr. David Lin doing biomechanics research and helping establish analysis pipelines for data. I utilized Python and MATLAB during my work for analysis, running batch simulations in OpenSim, and exploring machine learning applications (supervised/unsupervised) to kinematics data of the head and neck as well as kangaroo rat hopping gait.
