I aspire to continue my professional, scientific career within emerging biological industries. I have over one year of work experience within a production laboratory and achieved high academic results while studying my Batchelor of Science at the University of Newcastle. While working at Australian Laboratory Services, I made standards as a lab assistant. I first extracted straight from the source bottles and was questioned by my supervisor. I immediately realized and admitted to my mistake. Using communication and problem-solving skills, we mitigated the severity of the incident. I have since learned to consider my handling of solutions, and as a result, I have improved the accuracy and efficiency of my work. While working at Australian laboratory services, I was also required to perform routine safety checks. I performed a stocktake on the site first aid kit and acid spill kits. Many Items were past their expiration and needed to be more suitable for a professional environment. Using numeracy skills and teamwork, I helped replace the safety equipment and assisted in ordering two new first aid kits, significantly improving the site and employee safety.I aim to work as a practical biological scientist in the future and aspire to continue working within the Australian scientific industries.
