I worked with a number of Councils in assessing their approach to compliance with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard and its financial impact. I also delivered business planning training to staff members and I delivered Treasury Management and Board member governance training for several organisations. I was the lead co-ordinator for the training of the Edinburgh stock transfer shadow Board gaining regulatory approval within a 6-month time frame.I was involved with a number of Registered Social Landlords who are negotiating with Communities Scotland to develop stronger business plans based on a rigorous option appraisal approach.As a consultant I developed relationships with many housing bodies and also funders in the sector and fostered existing relationships to enable more senior colleagues to grow the business to a point where we were the leading social housing consultancy in Scotland. I was responsible for the financial regulation of a portfolio of housing associations of a variety of types, sizes and structures inlcuding Guinness trust, Sanctuary Housing, Anglia, Swan and a number of smaller organsiations like the Salvation Army and Ashram based in the Midlands

During my career with LloydsTSB I held many roles, latterly which included the operation of a new foreign exchange dealing service in Birmingham, this involved building up customer relationships and "making prices". Prior to that role I was a foreign exchange dealer in Edinburgh trading currencies and money market instruments as part of the bank's Scottish arm. I was also a manager of staff in a foreign currency operation and a chief cashier in a branch environment.
