Being a multidisciplinary designer, my perspective thrives on the edges and overlaps of various disciplines. I have a solid understanding of the benefits and limitations of the design process and the many hats a designer may wear.Being a seasoned self-employed design/builder, I’m familiar with all stages of the creative process, ultimately bringing a design into reality. This background in the Sustainable Design/Build Industry has allowed me to comfortably conceptualize the framework of software design and the benefits of Informative Architecture in order to meet project requirements. Furthermore, my formal training in the visual arts has enabled my eye to discern “what works” and “what doesn’t”. A good design is a simple design (although the process can be messy).Since 2016 I’ve been working as the lead UI/UX Designer at Acorn Interactive, a software design and development team based out of Vancouver, BC. This involves working closely with developers, clients, marketing and design teams, third party integrations and stakeholders, among others.
