The company is a facilities-based provider of telecommunications capacity to licensed international carriers through its ownership one of the world’s longest digital fiber optic undersea cable system. The system currently links the telecommunications markets of Western Europe and Japan through the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia and China and South Korea, adjoining countries with approximately 70% of the world’s population. The FLAG cable system was placed in commercial service on November 22, 1997 with an initial group of 62 international carriers.
