The inq. Group of companies provide enterprise and wholesale connectivity and digital services through operations in 5 sub-Sahara African countries, namely Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana and Cote d'Ivoire. Responsibilities include group financial strategy and reporting, oversight of the financial functions in each country and in the centre and financial compliance. A member of the Board of Directors and Group exco, Nick also contributes to the overall strategy formulation and running of the Group.

Internet Solutions International comprises the businesses of Internet Solutions in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Mozambique. I was responsible for the full operations of the businesses, which more than trebled in revenue terms over the period 2012 to 2018 and comprised almost 600 people. I was also responsible for the Strategy and M&A Office of Internet Solutions prior to 2015 in which capacity I led the acquisition of a listed company in Kenya.A member of the Internet Solutions ExcoChairman of the board of our Mozambique business and on the boards of directors of our businesses in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Zambia.

Responsibilities included the financial portfolio of Internet Solutions International. During this period the financial position and cash flows of the businesses were stabilised and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting improved substantially.

As Managing Director in the Investment Banking business of Macquarie I was responsible for client coverage, acquiring and executing M&A business for the division. Primary focus was in the telcom and technology sector

Undertook various projects including advising the board of a listed company subject to a take over offer, an investment opportunity evaluation in East Africa and the acquisition of a small gold mine

Held the mandate to grow the Africa business of Barclays which represented 13 countries. Conceptualised and initiated the acquisition of control of ABSA, which raised the proportion of Barclays value represented by Africa at the time from less than 2% to over 10%. Oversaw capital allocation and participated in the committee overseeing liquidity in the operations.
