Prince2 qualification and practical knowledge ranging from CAD drawings and FE modelling on commercial ships and MOD submarines, through to managing the process of build and delivery of commercial cruise ships with a cost of many €100’s Million.Demonstrated the ability to adapt to different situations spanning the change from hand drawings to computer design, from submarines to super yachts, and the full spectrum of design to project management. Used to dealing with a range of stakeholders in different countries, I have skills negotiating with shipyards and bringing large projects to a successful conclusion.

The New Flagship Company Ltd was registered in April 1998, following the decommissioning of HMY Britannia the previous winter, with the aim of spearheading the initiative, to build and operate a new ocean-going trade Flagship to represent the UK and Commonwealth nations.The company developed a design for a Flagship which was used to show how a new ship could look.Over the intervening 20 years, the company has promoted the idea, first with Tony Blair in 1999. Later Chief Emeka Anyaoku joined our team soon after the end of his term as Commonwealth Secretary General in 2000. Together, we established the Valiant Appeal Committee to generate long term funding but sadly without government contributions we lacked traction. Efforts continued to keep the idea alive over the intervening years, with interest from the press, support from MP's, a debate in parliament in 2016, and numerous other discussions. The original design has been modified over the years to reflect input from various parties.It’s been a long journey, but now we have the National Flagship project, sponsored by the government.
