Current• Reported direct to Plant Director, and acted as Deputy in his absence. Chairman of Site Health and Safety Committee and responsible for all site manufacturing, quality, materials management, and cost saving initiatives.• Reduced manning costs by £2 million, whilst increasing productivity from 1.67 tons/ man to over 3 tons/man pa., by transforming working practices from 1 man-1 job to more flexible working transferable across the entire site, accomplished with training.• Reduced insurance premiums by £1.23m (£1.3m to £74k) by introducing immediate and rigorous accident investigations by senior managers and near miss reporting from the shop floor, that reduced/removed false accident claims and compensation.• Improved OEE by 10%, by reducing machine downtime and breakdowns. Introduced TPM and developed check lists for maintenance inspections, and repairs. Involved the shopfloor team to drive the improvements to the machinery.• Saved £335k from wages and salary by flattening the organisational structure and developing shopfloor personnel into Senior Team Leaders. This involved identifying, and training of individuals to take ownership and responsibility of the areas KPI’s.• Reduced absenteeism from 8% to 3%, through immediate accident investigations and the introduction of back-to-work interviews, and 6 day absence reviews in a rolling 12 month period.
