Research Intern

Eindhoven Area, Netherlands

This research combined 2D-planar Particle Image Velocimetry and Direct Numerical Simulations to increase the efficiency of Magnetic Density Separation systems. The study proposed a solution to reduce turbulence levels in Magnetic Density Separation systems by up to 95%, therewith drastically enhancing the performance and efficiency of operational and future industrial applications.

Oct 2021 - Jul 2022

Research Intern

Eindhoven Area

During this study, 2D-planar Particle Image Velocimetry was used to characterize the decay of turbulence induced by variably-sized honeycomb flow laminators as a function of the Reynolds number. This research is part of a large project aimed at reducing global plastic pollution by increasing the performance of Magnetic Density Separation systems.

Lead Automation Engineer

Capelle Aan Den Ijssel, The Netherlands

During my time as a lead automation engineer, I was responsible for the entire process from the design and assembly to the quality control of a fully automated double-deck conveyer belt system, used for internal transportation of industrial goods. The project included design/assembly, the building of electronic cabinets and the coding of PLCs in the Siemens TIA portal, and was successfully completed according to customer satisfaction.

Mar 2018 - May 2019

Thesis Student

Gaanderen, The Netherlands

With this company, I collaborated during my Bachelor's Thesis titled: Theoretical and Experimental investigations on the prevention of condensation pressure drop in a vapor compression system by means of fan speed control (awarded 9.2/10.0). This study proposed the inclusion of fan speed control to drastically enhance the performance of all air handling units produced by DTE. The implementation of fan speed control reduced the required amount of coolant in all DTE systems by 28%, therewith resulting in certification in norm ERP2015. To support the suggested solution for the prevention of condensation pressure drop, an in-depth thermodynamical analysis of vapor compression refrigeration systems was conducted, therewith providing a solid theoretical framework that also served as the foundation for the experimental investigations.

Nov 2018 - Mar 2019

Engineering Intern

Maasbree, The Netherlands

This internship consisted of advanced calculations on heat and mass transfer in polytunnels and numerical verification with Autodesk - Computational Fluid Dynamics. The outcomes of the study were used to improve the design of polytunnel plant equipment, which was subsequently drawn in Autodesk - Inventor.
