As a US Air Force C-130 mechanic I’ve spent years ensuring that critical aircraft systems are in peak condition to do their job and ensure the security of our nation. My overseas deployment has allowed me to continue doing my job in extremely high-stress and quick environments. Being in a deployed environment has also taught me invaluable lessons about adaptability, teamwork, and resilience. The hardships that I’ve met while being overseas has played a massive role in developing my character and approach to life. I’ve learned the importance of meticulous attention to detail, as even the smallest oversight can have significant consequences. Additionally, I’ve gained an unwavering commitment to teamwork - knowing that the collective effort of a dedicated group is unstoppable in overcoming any obstacle that they may be faced with. Balancing my military life and being a student at the University of St. Thomas has been no easy task. There has been many times where relationships, jobs, and personal goals have been halted or even sacrificed due to the commitment I made to serve my country. But because of this, I have been instilled with discipline and problem-solving skills that I now apply to complex engineering challenges. My journey as a student has reinforced the idea that learning is a lifelong endeavor. I’m passionate about staying at the forefront of technology and innovation in the field of mechanical engineering. I’m excited to continue building on the strong foundation the Air Force has provided me, as I seek opportunities to contribute to cutting edge-projects and make a positive impact.
