GVC was bidding to become the selected developer for over 1 million sq ft of business space and 600 new homes at Golden Valley, west of Cheltenham. The land is owned by Cheltenham Borough Council who were running a competitive bidding exercise to select their preferred developer. Following retirement in May 2013 from the partnership, I became a consultant to Deloitte Real Estate and its clients, specialising in property investment, development and fund management assignments.

I spent most of my professional career at Drivers Jonas, then Drivers Jonas Deloitte following the merger of the business with Deloitte in 2010. I was managing partner and CEO of the business from 2001 to 2011.
