•Direct all operations of program development, administration, supervision and advising in Residence Life at Columbia College, which includes 6 residential buildings which house approximately 610 students.•Select, hire, train, and have direct responsibility for sixty-two Residence Life staff members. •Directly supervise one Administrative Assistant, two professional Residence Life Area Coordinators.•Indirectly supervise nineteen undergraduate live-in Resident Academic Advisor staff members, and approximately forty undergraduate desk assistants. •With faculty and staff collaboration, develop and implement a strategic plan for an academically and socially supportive residence life program that maximizes student learning, development, and success both in their living environment and in college.•Infuse the Columbia College 4 C’s of Leadership philosophies and co-curricular aspects of the Four-Year General Education Plan into the residential experience. . •Provide collaborative leadership in developing and implementing a plan for a comprehensive calendar of residential life programs that emphasizes academic support and connection, diversity awareness, and social activities, and supports athletics, the honors program, admissions events, campus traditions and weekend campus life.•Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment plan to collect quantitative and qualitative data on student satisfaction, learning, and retention.•Develop positive and productive partnerships with faculty to engage their interest and facilitate their awareness of the residence halls as living and learning communities.•Coordinate the annual room lottery and selection process. Manage room assignments and on-going housing processes.•Effectively communicate in writing and orally to all campus constituencies about residence life policies, procedures, and events.•Develop and implement annual residence life policy review process that includes students and faculty.
