in my current position with Curtiss Wright I run one of five mori seiki mills. some are horizontal and some of vertical Mills. when work is slow on the Mills I can often be put on CNC lathes. I make valves for the oil and gas industry. also we make valves for the government to be used on Navy ships that are being built in Virginia currently. I can't really talk much more about the position because of it being government work. obviously I deal in super tight tolerances and I'm able to do my own speeds and feeds. we cut a lot of brass for certain customers. the size of the valves that go on ships you can only imagine. some you can pick up with your hands and others you're definitely going to need a crane. I know this is kind of a broad explanation but I have to be careful I don't know what I'm allowed to say in this situation. have my own tools can read blueprints can program and edit existing programs. I'm a team player and I'm also open to learn things that I do not know. I've been in this trade for 25 years and I take my father's advice still. he told me when I was 16 that if you're the smartest guy in the room you're in the wrong room. so I remain teachable

Dover corporation produces several machines for the plastic industry. I make the parts for those machines. I do my own setups on Mills and lathes at my current position I can also program and edit programs if it's necessary. I machine many different parts for those to be assembled. standard dimensions for these parts are + or - .005. I do some work on Mills. I mainly run a Hitachi seiki NL 3000 lathe to cut refiner plates for the plastic industry. these are used to grind plastic in the powder so that they add color to it later for injection blow molds.there are several different dimensions on these parts some tighter tolerances would have to be checked constantly. other machines that I run to clean parts up are engine lathes and Bridgeport Mill. all the machines I ran had fanuc controls on the Mills and lathe and Haas controls.

I machined tools for the trade such as lathe bars with inserted pockets and cutter heads with inserted pockets. machine parts with extreme critical dimensions. some standard dimensions were on the prints but there was often tight dimensions such as +. 002 - 0.0000. use precision measuring tools to measure parts with calipers mics trios and comparator optical indicators and other devices. often had to proof out both new and prototype programs. most of the time the programs we're from across sea so I would edit my own program adjusting feeds and speeds for tooling in XYZ movement. I'll work was completed on five axis Mills manual Bridgeport Mill and makino leblond engine lathe.

Dainichi latheokuma lathe Cincinnati milacron lathe. five axis Mill cutting experience. also worked in tool crib sharpening drills and Mills and other tooling and putting together job packets.
