Growing up in the late 2000’s to early 2010’s technology was thrown at me from every direction in every aspect of my life. From school, to entertainment, to even walking down the sidewalk and seeing digital billboards, my world was encapsulated in technology. The constantly new innovations sparked my interest into understanding how these pieces of technology around me truly worked. I had always been a curious child, one of those pesky kids who asked everyone around them why over and over again until the point I was becoming annoying. The burning desire to answer the questions of how and why, led me to the computer science field. I began learning to program starting in senior year of high school where I took the only class available to me, AP computer science. It taught me the fundamental principles to writing code as well as a strong knowledge of java, which laid the framework for other object oriented languages. On top of the beginning of my path to learning to program, it rekindled the desire to understand how and why the things around me work. Now two years later as a sophomore in college at the Univeristy of Illinois at Chicago, I have been given the opportunities to study much more, such as higher level mathematics classes, natural sciences, and programming classes which have begun to answer my questions of how and why that the younger me is so interested to understand. I have currently taken some major programming classes such as data structure and algorithms. Currently, I know I am on the right path towards entering the industry, where I have the experience in C, C++, and Java programming languages. While I have valuable experiences in these languages, what drives me more is the constant curiosity to answer the questions of how and why the things around me work in the ways that they do.
