Senior executive responsible for the ABS' Communication (Media, Strategic Internal, Transformation, Census 2021), Parliamentary and Partnerships functions.

Responsible for the ABS' internal communication. The largest challenge involved developing and implementing a communication strategy to support staff actively adapt to the ABS' $250m Transformation. This role also included: improving the ABS' internal communication; supporting the Statistician's communication including speech writing; and working in partnership with the agency's Change Management team to drive cultural change.

Responsible for External and Change Communication and Digital Content Strategy. This included: providing advice and support to Minister’s office and department executive; jointly leading the $20m Country of Origin Food Labelling communication; and managing change communication for 2,500 biosecurity staff across the country. During this time I also re-established and led the department’s Project Management Office for 6 months.

Responsible for parliamentary business services including Cabinet liaison, parliamentary questions and senate estimates coordination; logistical support for the Minister’s and Parliamentary Secretary; cross-department briefing, coordination and reporting.

Senior executive responsible for: Parliamentary Liaison and Ministerial support; Internal Audit; Fraud and Security; Portfolio Coordination; Ministerial Forums and Appointments; and Executive Support.

Responsible for the Department's proactive and reactive media function. This included: being principle liaison between the department and the Minister for Agriculture's media advisor; developing and implementing strategic media approaches for key departmental and government activities including National Food Plan, drought reform, Federal Budget, Asian Century White Paper and Live Animal Exports issues; media issues management; and being a member of the department's crisis management team.

Responsible for stakeholder and community engagement activities including for the Child Support Scheme Reforms (CSSR) Communication Campaign and the broader Agency. This included: developing and implementing hard to reach audiences and national community outreach activities; forging strong working relationships with a range of government and industry stakeholders; and managing the development of innovative new products for separated families.

Starting as an economics graduate, I worked across a range of areas including Tourism, Agriculture, Labour Force, Information Consultancy, Client Services, Marketing and 2006 Census Communication.
