I shoot, produce and direct documentaries and investigative films for the BBC and sometimes for Channel 4.I also make radio documentaries for the BBC and write for the BBC website and other publications.In recent years I have made films in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Crimea, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, Italy, Myanmar, Israel and Palestine, Ireland and other countries. I speak Russian and have made many films in the former Soviet Union and about Russian foreign policy. Over the last years I've made films about Russian nationals and their families who lived in the so-called Islamic State in Iraq, the Orthodox church in Ukraine, and Russian interference in elections in Africa. I concentrate on contemporary stories, but also have interests in history and culture.
