My name is Nick Traylor, and I am currently a mechanical engineer in the Space Biosciences group at the NASA Ames Research Center.I have 8 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry, a private pilot's license, and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have performed a variety of mechanical engineering roles in my career including engineering design, support, sustainment, analysis of aircraft structures and components, missiles, and scientific hardware used on the International Space Station.I have extensive experience using a variety of CAD tools to design, revise, and analyze structural and system engineering components.I have developed and implemented engineering solutions to production and sustaining engineering issues and have aided with part fabrication, repair, and assembly for various projects. I also have test lab experience ranging from component testing to system and full-scale aircraft testing.My recent work at NASA Ames has included writing and performing engineering procedures for ISS Rodent Research hardware, performing MRB activity to keep the fleet flight-ready, and supporting SpaceX launch pad load operations.In addition, I have prior experience analyzing critical aircraft structural components using fatigue and fracture mechanics principles, finite element analyses, and classical stress analyses.
