I am a wildlife/conservation photographer, mostly documenting reintroduction, conservation and rescue projects e.g. Beaver, White Stork, Crane and Pine marten reintroductions to the UK, Swift and Hedgehog conservation, Seal and Bat rescue. I've won a number of photography awards (e.g. Conservation Documentary Award at the Bird Photographer of the Year competition 2020, Documentary Series Winner at British Wildlife Photography Awards 2014 and 2016) and have extensive portfolios at www.naturepl.com and www.RSPB-images.com and contributed many photos to the 2020VISION multimedia conservation photography project. I supply text and /or images to many books, national newspapers and magazines including BBC Wildlife and National Geographic, teach wildlife photographic techniques and have worked on commission for The National Trust, Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, the RSPB, other NGOs and private clients. After leaving zoological research (First degree and PhD at Cambridge University, post Doc at Oxford Univ.) I worked at the BBC as Series Researcher /Assistant Producer on David Attenborough's 'Trials of Life' series from '87-'91. From 1991-2001 I was Producer/Head of Natural History at Green Umbrella Ltd, making wildlife films for the BBC, National Geographic TV and many Public Service Broadcasters in the USA and Europe. I have been freelance since 2001, making films for the BBC, Austrian, Finnish and Taiwan Public TV, ARTE, Discovery and the RSPB Film Unit. My films won 12 “Best of Festival” awards in 8 countries and approaching 100 awards in total.Since 2012 I've been taking photos and video clips full time and have built up a major portfolio of stills for sale through photo libraries and directly to magazines, books and newspapers and of HD / 4K video clips for TV and online use.Specialties: Wildlife/Conservation photography and photojournalism.Extensive experience of working abroad, including South America, Caribbean, SE Asia, Europe, Africa.Used to working closely with a wide variety of animal subjects and to working with people on-camera.
