Nick's practice consists primarily of the following:Civil Litigation. Personal injury (car wrecks, job site injuries, slip and falls, etc...), wrongful death, employment, contract and payment disputes, partnership (business) divorce, and lien enforcement actions.Criminal Defense. Misdemeanor and felony charges, including DUI, possession/manufacture/sale/delivery of illegal drugs, robbery/burglary, assault/domestic assault, sex offenses, felony murder, and attempted murder.Family Law. Divorce, paternity, custody, child support, guardianships/conservatorships, dependency and neglect, and domestic violence.

 Licensed in the Federal Court, Tennessee Middle District, and all Tennessee State Courts. Criminal and Criminal Court representation for misdemeanor and felony offenses including drug possession/manufacture/sale/delivery, robbery/burglary, driving under the influence, theft, assault/domestic assault, sex offender registry, tampering with evidence, false report, animal cruelty and probation violations.  Family Law including divorce, paternity, child support, visitation, domestic violence/orders of protection, and custody issues. Small Claims matters involving contract/breach of contract, landlord/tenant (both commercial and residential), breach of fiduciary duty, professional liability and other small claims. Civil Litigation including partnership disputes, business dissolution, derivative suit, breach of fiduciary duty, contract/breach of contract (medical services agreements, construction contracts, agreement for services, and employment contract), wrongful termination, personal injury, and intentional tort claims.  Probate Court matters including Will, Will contest, and Guardianship matters. Tennessee Court of Appeals  Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Federal District Court, Middle District involving retaliatory discharge, and Title IX. Document Preparation including Assets Purchase Agreement; Contract for services; real estate purchase agreements (commercial and residential); lease agreements (commercial and residential); conveyances of real property; installment sale contracts, partnership agreements, Limited Liability Company, Articles of Organization and Operating Agreements, Corporate Charter and By-Laws (profit and not for profit organizations), liens, Wills and Trusts, Powers of Attorney (health care, general and limited), Prenuptial Agreements, Martial Dissolution Agreements, Parenting Plans and assignment of contract.  Due Diligence functions relating to contract negotiation and closing

I Performed an even mix of courtroom security and legal research duties including research and preparation of memorandum opinions--some of which made it the the appellate courts (and were affirmed!). The Court to which I was assigned considered exclusively domestic relations matters (divorce, child custody, domestic violence, orders of protection, adoption, child support enforcement, etc..). In connection with this job, I was required to attend a special class at the Metro Police Department for Court Security Personnel. The class involved training regarding arrest procedures and firearms/deadly force/use of force training. This one week course was an eye-opener in terms of what our police officers must deal with on a daily basis and has allowed me to view criminal cases from both my client's standpoint, and the standpoint of law enforcement. With respect to the other half of my duties, I spent considerable time watching other lawyers try cases--hundreds of them. I was able to learn from their mistakes. I was also in a position to discuss the cases with the Judge who ultimately decided the them. This inside perspective has been invaluable to me in practice.

Basically the back office administrative side of corporate trust managagment on the custodial side of investment banking. I was responsible for settlement of futures, options trades and mark-to-market activities for our corporate trust accounts. In connection with these duties, I transferred millions of dollars, sometimes daily, using fed-wire, and I transferred securities via DTC, FED and even physical transfer. In connection to trade settlement, I also was responsible for inputting the data into the bank's accounting system. Lastly, when the money, the shares, or the accounting entries did not match, I researched the breaks and worked to resolve then. I started out as a team member and moved to management by the time the bank closed the Nashville Operaion after selling to State Street.

Performed private protection services on behalf of a global manufacturing client. Basically a job to supplement my GI Bill while in college. I worked mostly nights and weekends, and some second shift. In short, my role involved discovering and managing risk to the client whether it be related to physical security, employee safety, or response to natural disaster. The job provided a wonderful education regarding the daily workings of a large manufacturing enterprise form both a social and operational perspective.

I joined immediately after High School graduation and started Basic Training at the age of seventeen. I was trained as an Infantry Soldier and spent four years performing Airborne Infantry and Long Range Surveillance (LRSD) duties on behalf of various units. My deployments and overseas service include: Panama, Korea and the Middle East (Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia). The Middle East included combat service.
