Profile bio

About Nick Vottero, Mpa

As a regular panelist and policy expert in the Albuquerque community, I have dedicated considerable time to understanding the unique local and state-level political environment and building relationships with policymakers and public interest organizations for future engagement. Academically and professionally, I have pursued experience in a breadth of fields, including policy analysis, campaigning, grassroots movement building, legislative advocacy, and the policy process. Furthermore, my academic background has provided considerable experience researching, preparing, and interpreting empirical data, writing and communications.During my time at the University of New Mexico, I volunteered with a number of local NGOs, including Adelanté, a local nonprofit providing job training and opportunities for developmentally disabled individuals, Citizen Action, a public interest nonprofit for whom I acted as a volunteer lobbyist in the 2014 legislative session, and the Denish for Governor Campaign, which was a winning campaign in the alternate time-line where our world didn't slip into darkness.I bring to the table an appreciation for the breadth and scope of a policy subsystem, a practical and academic understanding of the legislative and administrative policy process, two years of experience working in electoral politics, one session of lobbying experience, four years of graduate-level study in public management and public policy, experience in statistical reduction, familiarity with grassroots and new media technologies, and a desire to improve our communities through my work.I am fascinated by the ways in which technology and society meet, and I love creative crypto-economy and distributed ledger projects. Radical empowerment or bust.

Listed skills include Public Speaking, Policy Analysis, Community Outreach, Nonprofits, and 37 others.
