About Nick Wade
Dr Nick Wade is a functional molecular biologist and biochemist and Group Leader at The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh. The Roslin Institute aims to achieve sustainable agriculture, control diseases and enhance health through pioneering animal bioscience. Nick’s research focuses on the functional molecular responses to nutrition and feeding, known as nutrigenomics. He leads research into the genetic mechanisms that underlie crustacean shell colours and patterning, incorporating both environmental and genetic effectors. He also works on the application of advanced genetic technologies, such as gene editing, to understand an improve traits in aquaculture.
