I lead a team of finance and risk professionals whose responsibilities include providing close and continuous challenge to the setting of Nationwide's strategic direction. We conduct formal oversight of all financial planning and stress testing exercises, including Reverse Stress Test, PRA ACS stress test, Internal solvency stresses, Recovery Plan and Financial Plan setting. We also provide Horizon Scanning insights to all levels of management and the Nationwide Board

Providing oversight of Nationwide Retail lending (secured and unsecured) portfolios - leading a team of experienced risk professionals who work with relevant Heads of Credit and their teams to oversee how Nationwide manages primarily credit risk, with an eye on other risks (conduct, operational and business/strategic risk)

Responsible for managing the credit risk profile of Nationwide secured portfolios - including Prime and Buy to Let (TMW) portfolios. Responsibilities included leading a team of c. 20 risk professionals in managing portfolios (c. £160bn) within risk appetite. Successfully introduced Nationwide's response to MMR changes in 2014, plausibility checks within Underwriting and implementation of new scorecards.

Led small team responsible for managing pricing on Nationwide's personal loan business - using both the Nationwide brand and Derbyshire brand as price fighter online ensuring the portfolio grew in line with financial plans, and generated a return on capital for Nationwide. Used both risk based and optimised pricing, using NOMIS software - considering both the risk associated with lending, and the propensity of borrowers to pay specific rates.
