I am a banking and finance lawyer, with my main areas of practice being project finance (incl infrastructure and PPPs), acquisition finance, corporate finance and restructuring / distressed debt.In the infrastructure sector, I act for the financiers of the multi-billion dollar NSW Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone Project, the $2 billion Sydney Light Rail Project, the $2 billion New Royal Adelaide Hospital and for the consortium on the $1.6 billion Queen's Wharf Project in Brisbane. I have also acted on numerous other major PPP projects (or bids) such as Circular Quay Renewal, Footscray Hospital, Cross River Rail, NSW / VIC Social and Affordable Housing, SA Courts, Qld Schools II, Sunshine Coast Uni Hospital, Gold Coast Rapid Transit, Peninsula Link Road and numerous student accommodation projects. In the mining, oil & gas and power sectors I act for the lenders to the $4 billion Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal and I've acted on financings for the Phu Kham Copper-Gold Project, Kanmantoo Copper-Gold Project, Worsley Power Project, Kupe Gas Project, APA spinoffs Energy Infrastructure Investments and GDI Allgas Gas Network and several renewable energy projects.I have also acted on numerous acquisition financing and privatisation transactions, including the privatisations of the NSW LPI (land titles office), VIC LPI and Port of Brisbane, as well as bids for VicRoads, SA LPI, Port of Newcastle, NSW Lotteries and for the financiers to bidders for the Optus Mobile Towers and Spark NZ Mobile Towers sales.Corporate finance is also a significant part of my practice. I act for several large corporates (or their banks) within each of the agribusiness, mining and infrastructure sectors in particular and have significant experience with ESG and sustainability-linked finance transactions.I also regularly advise on restructuring / distressed debt transactions, including WICET, NRAH, Nyrstar, Sydney Light Rail, Seafolly, Sunraysia Solar Farm, Basslink, the Cross City Tunnel and in relation to the sale / purchase of individual loan exposures and major loan portfolios.I'm listed in Chambers Guide and Best Lawyers in Australia in the fields of Banking & Finance and Project Finance and Development Practice and was voted “Lawyer of the Year” in Project Finance and Development Practice in Sydney for 2023-2024.I’m a regular author and presenter, including as a facilitator of the APLMA documentation training courses and of the 'Advanced Financing Techniques' course at Sydney Uni.
