Nick Ampe graduated from CSU in 2004 with a BS in Environmental Health. He is currently the corporate Environmental Health Specialist, managing both Fort Collins, CO and Asheville, NC facilities. He has over 10 years of experience with managing environmental and safety regulations. Environmental regulatory work includes CAA permitting, GHG accounting, RCRA hazardous waste management, wastewater and stormwater permitting and management, radiation safety officer (RSO) and Tier II reporting. Additionally, he manages all spent brewing residuals for all facilities. Safety and OSHA regulatory work includes production safety assessments, lockout/tagout procedure creation and management, chemical and SDS management as well as managing the onsite incident management team (IMT).Outside of the regulatory realm, Mr. Ampe also manages all waste management at all NBB facilities. This includes management of the creation, handling and disposal of all waste and recycling streams for both the Distribution Center (DC) and brewery in North Carolina. He spearheaded the certification process for NBB to become a certified platinum zero waste facility through the US Zero Waste Business Council (ZWBC) in 2015. Information Technology (IT) management specific to EH&S is another part of the EH Specialist role. This includes administration and management of the contractor pre-qualification system, EH&S assessment system, claims reporting, SDS Database, LMS training system and equipment inspection system.
