As the Digital Video Manager, I spearhead our video strategy across all digital media platforms, including website, mobile app, OTT, YouTube, and Social Media. I also help create content plans for daily news, develop ongoing projects, and build leadership skills throughout the digital content team.

As WFAA’s first Social Media Manager, my primary responsibility was to install a social media strategy that would enable rapid growth and encourage innovation while maintaining the legacy, integrity and credibility of the WFAA brand. I am one of only a few employees who lives “between the silos.” I work with every department to create, ideate and curate much of the content that is published on WFAA social channels.

In my nine years of experience at KVUE TV I had the opportunity to work in a variety of technical positions.This position allowed me to learn about video production, broadcast audio and journalism. Around 2008, it became clear that social media had become a cultural force that could no longer be ignored. I took it upon myself to expand beyond the Graphics Operator position and learn about this growing new form of mass communication. I implemented KVUE’s first social media strategy and became focused on personal education and experimentation as well as selling the social media concept to management.

As a Construction Superintendent my duties were to supervise the construction of all phases of a new home. I oversaw the construction of 15-20 new homes at any given time with the expectation that they were to be completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

As a Studio Operator, my responsibilities included timely and accurate operation of the studio cameras. However, the bulk of my experience was as a floor director during the live news broadcasts.
