THE LATEST - I am a life-long educator and leader dedicated to my new dual role as coach/teacher with Belton ISD.With 2 years of high-need public school education experience and 9 years of experiential education and program administration experience as a youth development professional with the Army and Navy, I am a versatile educator.As an Assistant Youth Director (AYD) for a Navy Child Youth (CYP) Program, I helped maximize the effectiveness of my multicultural youth development team. Working in a "hardship" location, my CYP team was especially active and essential to provide enrichment and care to military families. As AYD, I balanced managerial and administrative responsibilities with direct youth development, putting my penchant for innovative youth development programs into practice.During the height of the pandemic, I was selected as a member of the prestigious MS Teaching Corps, 2020 cohort. Gaining 1 year of fully virtual and 1 year of in person middle school ELA classroom instruction experience, I also earned my Master of Arts in Teaching and acquired my teaching license with the endorsements to teach Social Studies and ELA.Further back, as a Technology Lab Associate experiential educator, I specialized in operating technology and outdoor adventure programs. As a team member in the EUCOM Army installation that consistently achieved the highest inspection ratings in the region, I served on the Caregiver Support Team, advocating for fellow staff to upper management.
