As a member of the cooperative institute, I worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory's Hurricane Research Division to develop and maintain a number of tools for supporting research and operational activities tracking Hurricanes and other tropical cyclones around the world.* Project manager for development team, managed development of several small to medium sized projects ranging from full featured Java applications, to Web-based applications, to command-line UNIX applications for assisting in tropical meteorological research and forecasting.* Managed near real-time data collection, developed stable tool set, written in C/C+, FORTRAN, Java, and Unix scripts, for collecting and processing near-real-time meteorological data.* Developed automated quality control routines in Java for surface winds in tropical cyclones based on data mining clustering algorithms, for use with a web-based Java application.
