Serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for a Regional Base Operations Support (RBOS) contract, prepare and administer the RBOS Safety Program and provide complete safety oversight of all RBOS sites and operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure that the NCRBOS Health and Safety Program is fully implemented at all Government-owned sites to the EM-385 safety and health regulation, and Federal OSHA requirements• Ensure the Hazard Communication Program complies with OSHA Standard 29 CFR (1910.1200), including the proper use of Safety Data Sheets, labeling, storage, location of the written program and employee training• Prepare Activity Hazard Analyses for the tasks associated with the job duties of our employees to identify and correct work place hazards in a timely manner• Ensure emergency plans and procedures are up-to-date, posted and communicated to all employees• Conduct weekly safety meetings with employees to convey safety information and answer employee questions• Ensure that pre-task planning guides are prepared and used for all tasks performed by the facilities maintenance employees• Ensure all employees are furnished, trained in the proper use and use the PPE required for their jobs• Ensure new hires receive required safety training within the first seven days of their hire date• Report all job related accidents, injuries, or illnesses in accordance with OSHA, EMCOR and government requirements. Maintain copies of accident/incident reports and investigations and documentation of employee safety training• Develop and maintain a close professional relationship with government safety representatives at each contract site to review accident/incident reports, trends in safety, conduct facility safety audits and inspections, discuss new safety and environmental issues, and make recommendations to ensure the safety of EMCOR employees and building occupants

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is accountable for all corporate safety and OSHA compliance. The Corporate Safety and Compliance Manager,s position encompasses design and implementation of safety policy, formal training, and audit processes, as well as integrate best practices to all levels of all departments within the company. Additional duties include emergency response and/or support of key individuals in emergency situations as needed. Also to oversee the Corporate Safety Advisory Committee and Site Safety Committees consisting of senior business managers at Regional and Cleveland locations, oversee environmental program as well as interface on new site development and renovation construction projects. SCOPE: The scope of this position extends to any and all company departments and sub-components of those departments examples being: Agency, Claims, all Corporate groups, and Sales and Service for the company. The specified work groups occupy approximately 500 locations and 6 million square feet of leased and owned real estate. Location types vary to include branch offices, complex call centers, campus locations, and mission critical facilities. Oversee direct report staff including contractor(s), and/or outside resources as needed.

This position is primarily contributor to maintaining a safe workplace for all 28,000+ Progressive Insurance people and over 600 facilities nationwide. Primary duties involve the development, implementation and direct oversight of all Quality Assurance, Safety, Security, Property Protection, Human Resources, Workers’ Compensation, Employee Training, Commercial Drivers’ License and Environmental Compliance programs at this Project Location; This position also has accompanying duties and responsibilities that require an in-depth working knowledge and specific experience in the oversight of the Base Operations Service Contract. My management experience includes the oversight of the administration of the following operational areas of the Contract: Supply/Warehousing Operations Airfield Management Operations Vehicle Maintenance Operation Civil Engineering/Real Property Maintenanc Transportation Management Petroleum Oils Lubricants OperationsSpecific responsibilities also include aspects of the IUOE Contract Bargaining Agreement.

This was a corporate, management level position that included the direct oversight of approximately 45 Company personnel and the development multiple business operations and divisions. The Company established operations and maintained project locations in multiple States, and specialized in providing consultation, development and the implementation of occupational safety, health, environmental services and quality assurance programs for various corporate clienteles. I was also instrumental in the development and management of a division of the Company that provided specialized hazardous waste mitigation services of PCBs, lead, asbestos and other toxic substances. I received specific formal training and experience involving compliance with Federal OSHA and other State safety and occupational health codes and environmental regulations, including ISO 9000 and 14000 quality management systems.

State of Ohio Civil Service Position that involved providing specialized safety services to companies in the State of Ohio through the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Work assignments involved visiting approximately 150-200 different companies and construction sites each year to provide safety-related consultation services and employee training on safety-related issued and topics. Other duties involved interaction with other Federal and Sate regulatory agencies (i.e., Federal OSHA, Ohio Department of Health, etc.) to provide specific consultation to clients and educational institutions, and perform informative speaking engagements for various organizations and audiences; a thorough working knowledge of workers’ compensation and expanded risk management principles. I served as the Cleveland Ohio Regional Office Liaison in conjunction with the Cleveland State University, Labor Management Relations Center, in the development of the Joint Labor/Management Quality Systems Program.
