After spending most of the past two decades in higher education or the wine industry (with a return to mainstream media in the middle), I have decided to strike out on my own and offer my editorial and communications skills to whomever might find them useful.My focus is always been on clarity of message and helping people say what they are trying to say.

Spent an enjoyable 18 months as part-time EO for WCA, having previously spent two years on the Board.

I was responsible for all communications from and about the national representative body for Australia’s 2500+ wine businesses and helped develop a new wine tourism strategy and corporate social responsibility strategy.

This was a new position created to help the Pro-Vice-Chancellor oversee the Marketing Development Unit (including the Media Unit) and UniSA International and coordinate communications from the university Chancellery.

My major client during this period was Wine Australia. I was involved with drafting the Wine Australia: Directions to 2025 national industry strategy and supporting marketing collateral, creating new corporate and consumer websites, and media relations.

I joined this start-up SA newspaper at the beginning and served as Deputy Editor then Editor, alongside writing and sub-editing.

Responsibilities of the office included marketing, media relations, official university publications, alumni relations, function organisation, coordination of campus venues, and community engagement activities. I reported directly to the Vice-Chancellor on corporate and/or whole-of-university marketing strategies and provided advice and assistance to.
