Hi, I'm Nick! I am fascinated by the complex relations between technology and human beings. At school, I have sought diverse experiences in and out of the classroom which I hope to utilize in developing software that is socially conscious and beneficial to the health and wellbeing of its users.At university, I have participated in research in Human-Computer Interaction, developed a community-oriented mobile app to evoke change at my school, and helped to build a virtual reality simulation to explore racial biases. All in an effort to understand how technology moves people.When I'm not sitting in front of my computer screen, I'm probably out running, rock climbing, or doing just about anything outside. I feel most at peace when I am outside and often use it as an escape to think through a hard problem or just reset. I have a deep connection with nature and hope to contribute to the technology that will save our planet.At the end of the day, I love to code. It is a powerful vehicle for change whose reach is ever-expanding. Yet it is also a diverse and influential medium for creative expression. I am still young and I do not know what problems I will work on in my lifetime yet. I am fairly confident though, that through careful consideration of human-centered design principles, and well-thought-out code (not just in the technical sense but the social as well), I can have a meaningful impact on just about any major problem of our times.
