About Nick Denton
How do we create just and equitable places? How would we see the city if we knew the names of tuna as old as buildings that swim its rivers? How can a city centre indigenous sovereignty? How do we design for a future with Te Tiriti at its centre in Aotearoa?I am a tangata Tiriti urban designer and registered architect in Tāmaki Makaurau. my practice and professional aims are motivated by these questions of relationships, of our responsibilities and sense of place within our shared environments.My skills and experiences in design practice, teaching studios, creative writing and research all contribute to my understanding of space, and how we can make more effective space for community intervention and agency. I am excited to continue learning and contributing to the ideas that these questions might inspire, giving effect to their aspirations for our future environments.
