The Tachyon Group consists of three company's: Tachyon Engineering, Tachyon Motorsport and (since 2014) Hydrotest Systems. I'm mainly involved in development of small OEM Turbo projects (Tachyon Engineering) and development of double walled diesel fuel injection pipes for industrial marine applications (Hydrotest Systems). Besides this product development i've also a big focus on the improvement of the production process of Hydrotest Systems, involving the multi disciplinair (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and software design) development of custom automated production machinery to deal with increasing production and quality standards (Hydrotest recently acquired ISO:9001).

At my graduation project at Mosselman Turbo Systems i've made the first big step in developing a new embedded iC-Module (Intelligent Control Module). This modules are used to "chiptune" the most modern cars for which no access to the original Engine Management ECU is provided yet. (Mostly this access isn't achieved within about two years). The project involved a lot of research on the behaviour of the Bosch MEVD17.2 ECU to determine the possibilities to influence the behaviour of the ECU without having access to its calibration and without setting a "check engine light". Also determined the (embedded) hardware which is needed, for example the choice for a capable but afforable microcontroller and subsytems for reading sensors etcetera. The project has led to a technical report for Mosselman Turbo Systems which is focused on continuation by the next graduation students, forming a perfect starting point for them and good documentation from the researches and conclusions so far.The overall mark for my graduation project was a 8 (out of 10) Besides the graduation project i spent a lot of hours on the Chassisdyno (Superflow 880E AWD) from Mosselman Turbo Systems with a lot of different cars (from BMW 316i to full race spec GT4) which was extremly instructive to extend my knowledge about for example engine management systems. This included remapping my own free, programmable equiped, turbo converted, BMW M535i turboproject.

After my internship I continued working parttime at Tachyon Motorsport / Engineering. In this period I’ve been busy finishing the rally Corvette with the team for the East African classic rally. Other projects i've done in this period were converting a BMW E30 M3 to a free programmable ECU (DTA) and prepared it for racing. Also made a complete new wiring loom for a new Corvette Grandsport continuation which was build at Tachyon Motorsport. Besides the motorsport activities I’m part of team producing turbochargers in low volume and being involved with some small turbo related engineering activities for the Tachyon Engineering department.

During my internship at Tachyon I participated in a team preparing a Corvette Grandsport for the East African classic rally. Next to a lot of small engineering and production activities my main focus was on getting the geometrics of the complete custom (big travel) rear suspension right with respect to the originality of the car.Besides this project I also did a lot of small engineering activities to other race cars and did rally support on a customer car at the Liege-Rome-Liege rally 2012.

At my internship at Elektro Internationaal B.V. i've been part of a production crew building extremly heavy power distribution boards (with switches up to 6300A) and control & operator panels.I've learned working with Schneider (Prisma & Okken), Legrand and Cubic distribution board designs. Was also doing a lot of copper beam connections (manually bending, punching) and wiring of control panels. At the end of my internship i was able to build a medium size (1600A) Prisma distribution board completly on my own. Also continued working in summer holiday.

During my internship at Kuijpers Installaties i've been functioning as a autoCAD draftsman for the main installations of (industrial) buildings. This involved determining exact placing of light points, power outlets and so on, but also doing calculation for the needed capacity of power distribution boards and light strength calculations.
Utrecht
At my internship at the UMC Utrecht hospital i was helping the staff of the technial service, which are responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting for building-related technical installations of the enormous 440.000m2 hospital. This installations included a high maintenance pneumatic mailing system (used for blood samples i.a.) but also lighting, power outlet, patient signalling systems, elevators and power distribution boards.
