I am a recent graduate of Eckerd College with a Bachelor of Arts in Animal Studies, and minors in marine science and entrepreneurship. My academic and professional journey has equipped me with a diverse set of skills and experiences that I am eager to apply towards the conservation and management of marine life, particularly sharks.During my studies, I had the opportunity to participate in a chemical and physical oceanography research cruise, where I gained hands-on experience in marine research methodologies. Additionally, I volunteered at a pathobiology lab, contributing to marine mammal necropsies, which honed my skills in scientific research and data analysis.My professional experience includes a three-month internship at an aquarium as a Scuba Dive Coordinator. In this role, I developed strong leadership and organizational skills, coordinating dive activities and ensuring the safety and efficiency of underwater operations. This position also allowed me to further develop my expertise in data entry, data analysis, and scientific writing.In addition to my marine science background, I have extensive customer service experience, having worked as a bartender and sales associate. These roles have strengthened my communication skills, my ability to work under pressure, and my dedication to providing excellent service to customers.I am proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, skilled in both scientific and business management writing, and possess a strong typing ability. My dedication has been recognized beyond academics, where I received the Lumberjack of the Year award from Great Lakes Baseball Academy for my outstanding achievements.My ultimate goal is to conduct and publish research that contributes to the conservation and management of sharks. I am committed to using my skills and experiences to make a meaningful impact in marine science and to further the understanding and preservation of marine ecosystems.
