I have spent most of my working life in the events, entertainment, and book industries. My first work experience in school was in a book shop. When I went to university to study Music Business and Events Management, I simultaneously worked in a live events team, for festival organiser, and a digital music retailer. After university I worked in two different book stores and a fine stationery retailer’s in Germany, before returning to university for a Masters in Creative Writing, where I also started working parallel for Waterstones. My last position at Waterstones was Managing Senior Bookseller, effectively filling the role of a Lead, as the Islington branch did not have a Lead. I was overseeing the non-fiction floor and headed the SFF, YA, Poetry, Travel, and Cookery sections, as well as fulfilling duties in goods-in, cash office, and general shop administration. My pride and joy was the events schedule I ran. I am the founder of the local YA book club The Green Room, as well as the foodie events series IslingtonEats! which hosted chefs such as Georgina Hayden, Clare Lattin, Alex Hely-Hutchinson, Gill Meller, and Thomasina Miers. I also booked and hosted a number of YA events and private book launches. I am a hard-working self-starter and team player, I learn quickly and adapt well, and I have a burning passion for anything to do with books.
