Architect of sponsored research legal framework with our university tech transfer partner (MSU) including renewal, maintenance, COI, and more. Resulted in a core patent for an eHe quantum computer, co-invented by EeroQ staff and MSU staff paid for by EeroQ via sponsored research. Also wrote the first angel check into EeroQ, and recruited the second major investor (Dave Ferguson) whose patience and belief allowed us to de-risk the science and get far enough to raise VC from a top tier fund (B Capital) with $7.5B AUM.

After merging GiftedHire with NSCS, I became an equity partner & BOD Member of the newly formed entity Scholar Ventures LLC (SV). SV’s flagship brands continue to operate, primarily the largest collegiate honor society in the world, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) and my original company GiftedHire, even after the dissolution of SV in late 2023. SV also operated other brands including Torch & Laurel, ExactResume, GiftedHire, and others.

Co-founded and led software platform for early career job seekers, with a multitude of sophisticated features such as resume scanning, BLS data visualization, scholar profiles, and more. The GH career platform was used by leading brands such as EY, Macy's, Enterprise Holdings, TrackMaven, MetLife, and many others. Exited via joint venture to The National Society of Collegiate Scholars in late 2017, where I remained a largely passive Equity Partner & Strategist while focusing full time as EeroQ CEO.

Bering was a data analytics platform, a “Bloomberg terminal for science” founded by PhDs from Columbia and UCLA, Gregory Minevich and Sam Blinstein, that enabled everyone in the scientific ecosystem to evaluate scientists and their research for hiring, investment, expert knowledge, and R&D. In the end, the market for the product was too small to justify the considerable funding needed to support the sophisticated product.

Ran this business in high school and college. One of the first eBay drop off companies and early PowerSeller. Specialized in liquidating older phone systems for companies moving to VoIP.

Acquired by Kewill (LSE: KWL) which itself was acquired in 2012 by global leading PE firm Francisco Partners. My first foot in the startup world.
