This is accomplished through a peer mentoring model coupled with SCUBA diving and career training curriculums. Through our programs, our members learn how to apply the life lessons taught through scuba diving and community to sustain their lives above and below the surface; establishing a recipe for success in transitioning to civilian life and finding inner peace. Our peer mentors help veterans understand their needs, identify core personal growth areas, develop plans to accomplish their goals, and service their needs through our network of adjacent Veteran Service Organizations. United States Freediving AssociationUSFA is a federal 501 (c) 3 non profit organization that represents freediving in the Untied States. USFA is the national organization within the International Assoication for the Development of Apnea (AIDA) www.aidainternational.org. As such, USFA is responsible for sanctioning all competitive freediving within the US and recognition of all US National Records. USFA is also responsible for selecting and fielding the US Freediving Team and representing US Freediving internationally.The USFA advocates for freediving safety in all aquatic apnea activity and all forms of freediving. Competitive freediving is USFA's primary responsibility, however, only through safe breath hold activities can continued access to pools and support be assured. Our goal is to work toward zero apnea accidents in all apnea activities.Promoting freediving as a recreational and life long activity is central to USFA's mission.
