I started 6 21 to leave a lasting legacy in the field of project design management. I vividly remember my first design job after graduation. The client constantly hovered over me, dictating where walls should be placed, how doors should swing, and what materials to use—a nightmare for any Architect. I didn't spend six years at university having my design decisions overridden by someone without the same level of expertise. After enduring this for six grueling months, I confronted my employer about the situation and the lack of commitment to quality. We mutually agreed it was time for me to continue my quest for excellence elsewhere. That was the first step in a long, passionate pursuit for quality. My journey has taken me from being a designer to roles as a project architect, project and exhibit design manager, resident engineer, sales, bidding, real estate development, quality management, and operations director. Now, 41 years later, it has led me to found 6 21 Project Advisor.Throughout my career, I've witnessed countless instances of wasted effort that erode financial margins, delay deliverables, and sabotage the very goals everyone involved in the design process aims to achieve. I understand the pain points of company leadership who are passionate about innovation and excellence but also anxious about client needs, demands, and trust. They face the challenge of dealing with fast-changing technology, BIM, AI, and behavioral science, needing to deliver the best solutions to stay competitive while managing dwindling or costly resources. They are always concerned about revenue fluctuations, data quality, and changing municipal regulations and stress over managing project finances, smartly allocating resources, and staying resilient in tough times, while being aware that project delays and cost overruns are significant wastes. So, I founded 6 21 to alleviate these executive fears and eliminate this waste.
