Bonsucro is a global multi-stakeholder non-profit initiative dedicated to reducing the environmental and social impacts of sugar cane production. It operates a standard that measures these impacts and a system to certify sustainable practices.

The UK's independent biofuels regulator, responsible for ensuring that a rising percentage of UK fuel tank content is from sustainable biofuels. Duties transferred into Department for Transport in April 2011.

ENA is a lobby, sets standards and provides services to utilities worldwide. Rebuilt national body from its predecessor, expanding it to include a wider constituency. Key achievements include positive long-term outcomes of four regulated price reviews and the approach taken to investment in infrastructure and planning in Government energy policy.

Established the office, staff team and Board, integrated the organisation into the region’s political and other structures and shaped its public profile. Key achievements featured incubating the renewable transport fuels obligation and initiating (including securing funding for) the region’s offshore wind centre, 'Orbis'. Undertook role concurrently with launching ENA.

Turned around failing organization, leading it to secure extensive growth in wind farms through the ‘renewables obligation’ made on electricity suppliers. Initiated programme of stakeholder dialogue that underpinned 8GW of offshore wind farm licenses. Increased corporate membership six-fold and banked a million pound promotion fund. Made Honorary Life Member.

Took the charitable learned society online.Masterminded the 150th anniversary programme.Secured its then highest ever levels of media coverage. Largest post-war growth in membership, particularly students.Previous positions at IMechE (1986 – 1995) were Learned Society Conference Executive (running the technical programme), Membership Development Officer (responsible for recruitment and retention), and PR Officer (wide ranging, from branding to careers information).
